Explorer II Variants:

The major and the only difference between the two Rolex Explorer II models is the “Dial Color”. The color makes each of the models uniquely different in their own way. The Rolex Explorer II “White Dial” is characterized by hour makers fashioned from 18 karat gold to prevent tarnishing. On the other hand, Rolex Explorer II “Black dialed” version creates a phantom effect as the black base of the hands blends with the dial which seems to provide a floating effect. Equipped with calibre 3187, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex.

The Explorer II is equipped with an additional 24 hour display; a dedicated hand circles the dial in 24 hours rather than the usual 12, pointing to a fixed bezel with 24 hour graduations. It helps the wearer to distinguish between the hours of the day to the hours of the night.
